"The weather cross, consecrated in 1909 by Bishop Konrad von Busch (1847-1910) of Speyer, was created by stonemason Johann Minges and is the highest weather cross on the Haardt mountain range. A somewhat inconspicuous peak or small mountain ridge. There is a stone here with the inscription “E. Scherr / 1942 [?] / P. W. D.” (of the Palatinate Forest Association Diedesfeld?). Below this summit there is a rest bench with a view of the Rhine plain on one side and the PWV hut on the other side.

The way to Teufelsberg is marked with a weather cross. High up on the summit is a large stone cross, the so-called Wetterkreuz. From the summit you have an impressive view in the direction of the Rhine and you can still see the Anna Chapel at your feet. You almost have a nice feeling of happiness at the summit here.

Once you have arrived at the Kalmit, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Upper Rhine Valley. The Kalmithaus is located at 673 m on the Palatinate Wine Trail and is the highest hut in the Palatinate Forest. It is the first and oldest hiking hut in the region. The house was inaugurated in 1908. Guests can enjoy Palatinate dishes or changing daily specials and game specialties inside and on the patio with a panoramic view.

The (Great) Kalmit is 672.6 m above sea level. NHN height the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest and after the Donnersberg the second highest peak in the Palatinate region.

The Ludwigsturm is a 15 meter high observation tower made of sandstone on the southern flank of the Blattsberg summit plateau in the Haardt, the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest. It is worthwhile to linger here and walk around the rock formation to the east as well. The way over the Teufelsfelsen gives no idea what this highlight looks like when viewed from below. Swarm and enjoy!
