The view of the Saarpolygon is fantastic, especially from the top of the slag heap.

This is the geometric center of Saarland (see the information panel for details). The geographical center (highlighted title) is located approximately 5 km away in Falscheid, as the crow flies.

A perfect stop for a bike tour along the Saar River. An overnight stay at the Leonardo Hotel is recommended.

One would think that on this route, the Saarpolygon, located on the large spoil heap, would be 'omnipresent' and visible from many spots. Unfortunately, this isn't the case, as it is either obscured by hills or forests. Even along Hülzweilerstraße, it's hard to get a good glimpse because it's already obscured by the spoil heap itself.
