There are still remains of walls and stairs at the site of this highlight. The (current) red and white radio mast is located about 100 m further west.

Really beautiful cross! However, for the reasons mentioned above, it doesn't really give you that "summit feeling"...

The peak is only interesting because of its military past

The summit cross on the 473-meter-high "Großer Hausberg" was handed over to its destination on Easter Saturday 2022 with a small celebration. It is around four meters high, consists of very weather-resistant larch wood and has a granite base. A tin box is attached to the back, in which a "summit booklet" is stored. Unfortunately, it is "only" at 466 meters, because a PV system is installed on what is actually the highest point of the local mountain. The cross is absolutely beautiful (situated) and would not cause the slightest shame even on a much higher, alpine peak! Finally a highlight that deserves to be called as such in addition to the actual highlight on which it is written! ABSOLUTELY GREAT!

Despite the rain, we wanted to cycle up the hill. The forest path was more pleasant than if we had driven up from Bann. This route is paved but very steep. Also, the forest trail is more pleasant in rain and sunshine.
