Great castle ruins and definitely worth seeing. Part of the new building style is added to the old one. Conferences and events take place here. There is also a café and you have a great view from up here.

Can be easily integrated into a run around Waldböckelheim. The Heimbergturm is a 29 m high observation tower on the 302.7 m above sea level. NHN high Heimberg between Schloßböckelheim and Waldböckelheim. It was built in the spring of 2008 in the manner of a wooden framework and has a square floor plan. The cornerstones consist of 85-year-old, natural Douglas fir trunks from the Soonwald near Mengerschied and are braced crosswise with metal braces. A left-hand wooden staircase serves as the staircase, which leads over 144 steps and 15 intermediate landings to the covered viewing platform.

Northeast of the Ellerspring summit is the 107 m high Ellerspring radio tower, which was built as a type tower FMT 11 in reinforced concrete. It is owned by Deutsche Telekom AG. TV and radio stations used to be fed into the cable from there. The tower supplied the districts of Bad Kreuznach, Birkenfeld, Mainz-Bingen and Alzey-Worms as well as the Rhein-Hunsrück district and Donnersberg district. Today it only serves as a reserve for TV and radio, but forwards the signal for cable TV via radio relay to the Bad Kreuznach radio tower for supplying Bad Kreuznach. From the castle you have a wonderful view of the Kellenbachtal. Unfortunately, one of the beautiful vantage points is currently closed and not accessible (12.07.).

The view from the tower in all directions is very impressive. The wooden tower is almost 30 meters high. An ideal place for a long break.
