The focal point of Bad Königshofen is the large market square with its three ornamental fountains: the Luitpold Fountain under the linden tree, the Röhrenbrunnen (Tube Fountain), and the Michaelsbrunnen (Michael Fountain), above which the wrought-iron angel "floats." The Vierröhrenbrunnen (Four-Tube Fountain) in front of the Schlundhaus (Thrush House) was fed by a water pipe even before the Thirty Years' War, making it an important part of the town. Also located on the market square is the medieval Kornstein (cornstone) from 1525, which formerly served as a grain measuring device. People call the person who towers over the 6000 square meter market square in Bad Neustadt an der Saale Marktbärbel. The crude name does not do justice to the grace of this slender figure. After all, she is a spring nymph from Strasbourg. In 1881, she was raised onto a pedestal, onto a column, to mark the completion of construction work for the city's water supply. The original structure of this impressive city gate was built around 1348. Prince-Bishop Julius Echter reinforced the gate around 1595 with a Renaissance extension. A laurel branch was carved into the archway. This is said to be a reference to the nearby Lauer River. The beautifully laid out and well-paved railway line cycle path along the Saale between Saal a.d. Saale and Bad Königshofen is called "Dr. Fritz Steigerwald Weg" after the former district administrator. The entire cycle path from Bad Bad Neustadt to Bad Königshofen is 27.3 km long. Approximately 11.7 km of this is on the former railway line; between Hollstadt and Saal the cycle path runs away from the railway line on the northern side of the Franconian Saale at a considerable distance from the federal highway.
