The castle actually has a website: https://www.burg-yburg.de Perhaps there is more information here about when a reopening can be expected - the last information was "summer 2023" - which is now almost over. (There is still a castle at the outermost gate)

Very nice photo motifs in the castle and on the tower you have beautiful views of the Rhine plain and as far as the Vosges. The staircase in the tower is steep and narrow.

Built in 1200 by the Lords of Windeck. The last heir was killed by illness in 1592 on the return journey of his Junkers' Journey, which had taken him to Palestine through Fra, Spa and Ita.
