Lac Vert in Haute-Sorne is a small artificial lake located in the Jura mountains, formed by the Sorne river. It is surrounded by forests and pastures, and offers a beautiful emerald color due to the reflection of the trees. You can enjoy the scenery and the refreshing water of the lake, or continue to the Pichoux gorges for a longer hike. Lac Vert in Haute-Sorne is an ideal destination for trail runners who want to discover the Jura region.

On the aerial ridge of Belle Etoile, you will be rewarded with magnificent panoramic views.

The Haute-Sorne plateau offers panoramic views of the Jura mountains and you can even see the Vosges or the Chasseral on a clear day.

At over 300 meters above sea level, this peak is a gentle hike that gives you views that only a 1,000 meter peak can provide.

With this plan but gentle trails, Jolimont is a great place to hike with constant views, cows, and places to explore.

The Sorne has dug itself deep into the rocks and today roars between almost vertical walls through the wildly romantic gorge. Numerous springs flow into the Gorges du Pichoux. Are there actually 1,000 sources, as the name “Pichoux” translates to? At the end of the gorge, Lac Vert shines like an emerald in the most wonderful shades of green - a fantastic place for your picnic. The Gorges du Pichoux is located on the road between Bellelay and Undervelier. By public transport or by car go to Sornetan, Le Pichoux.
