The history of the Adelsdorf branch of the von Bibra noble family is closely linked to the castle. Baroness Barbara von Bibra, who sold the castle to the community in 1993, lived in the main wing of the castle until her death at the end of 2016. Today the castle is used in a variety of ways and houses the wedding hall of the registry office, parts of the municipal administration, the adult education center, the administration of the castle foundation, the art association, a doctor's practice, a law firm, a yoga studio and the HOFHAUS. http://www.schloss-adelsdorf.de/

Wiessenstein Castle in Pommersfelden was built between 1711 and 1718 under Lothar Franz von Schönborn, the Bamberg Prince-Bishop and Elector of Mainz in Pommersfelden near Bamberg as a private summer residence. It is regarded as the founding building of the Franconian Baroque and is still owned by the Schönborn family. A visit is absolutely worthwhile. Attention: Hourly guided tours! There is a good cafe nearby.

Adelsdorf Castle is a baroque country or hunting castle. The two-storey, solid north wing with a gabled roof is supplemented by a two-storey half-timbered east wing as well as outbuildings and the castle chapel - marked "1595" and 1600. The castle's predecessor was a moated castle.

The privy councilor Wolf Christoph von Mohrenfels bought the "Reichs-Freye-Ritterguth Hemhofen" from Baron von Töstelberg in 1722 and completed the construction of the baroque palace complex in 1724. Since that time, the noble family of Winkler von Mohrenfels has been significantly involved in the history of Hemhofen. Under Georg Christoph (1709-1748), the palace and its outbuildings developed into a handsome baroque complex that was in use for centuries.
