Not so easy, the short detour to Windburg. But the view is phenomenal. The view stretches as far as the Fichtelgebirge! There is a legitimate reason to warn of the risk of falling.

The Windburg is one of the Seven Summits in the Nuremberg region. For the last part of the ascent from the hiking trail to the summit you should have sturdy shoes and be sure-footed!

The Winburg is a rock formation from which you have a beautiful view to the northeast. The ascent is quite steep and not easy on wet ground.

I felt like Bambear, on the first visit I did not make the ascent, although it can be clearly seen that the rock looks out over the treetops. Unfortunately, the rock can only be approached from the north. A circumnavigation is no longer possible after forest work without clearing up the trail is no longer accessible or drivable.

Rothenberg Fortress is a former fortress on the 588 m high mountain of the same name. Access is only possible with a guided tour, but this is worthwhile and takes about 35 minutes. From the fortress you have a great view of the surrounding area and of more distant places, e.g. the wind turbines in Schweinfurt, 122km away. Unfortunately, the circular route offers hardly any views of the fortress and no view either.
