Krumbad is considered the oldest spa town in Swabia. Its history is linked to a special raw material: Krumbach bathstone. As early as the 16th century, this claystone was considered a remedy for ailments such as rheumatism, arthritis, tension, and skin problems. The bathstone was mined around the spa town at a depth of three to five meters. After drying, it is extracted into a fine powder, which, when mixed with water, is applied to the body as a healing mud.

Highly Recommended. Good kitchen, very friendly and the beer tastes good. Also the monastery shop has very interesting things for sale.

We always enjoy coming here for coffee. The location makes it easy to integrate the visit into beautiful hikes.

Kilometers of forest paths for hiking, jogging, gravelling or MTB, just coffee and cake or a treatment in the Krumbad!?...many things are possible in beautiful surroundings...an autumn walk through the "Laubgang" is no longer an insider tip, but it's always worth it!!
