In October I ended up at the Gasthof Ente because there wasn't much choice. But I was still 30 minutes too early for dinner. Then the landlady came and offered me the Allgäu Kässpatzen. That led to a big laugh when I revealed that I was from Allgäu and the waitress said that the chef had to try harder. I got great spatzen with a cheese that pulled long strings. The only thing missing was a spicier cheese and I seasoned it with a bit of pepper as usual. The landlady was happy because I only complained about the flat plate and suggested using deep plates in future because they retain the heat better. Small cast iron pans would be best. Now an unimportant request of you. Can you check whether she is now using soup plates, for example. HIHI and thank you.

The Altmühl is a 227 km long river in Bavaria, which flows into the Danube from the left with an average water flow of a good 24 m³ / s after an initially south-east and then east-facing course near Kelheim. The last 34 km from Dietfurt the Main-Danube Canal runs into its bed.

There are six signposted routes with different levels of difficulty, for beginners e.g. the Julian Trail to the black route of the toboggan run. It is possible to bypass most sections of the route. For beginners there is a practice course & pump track at the valley station. The classic Eulenhof Trail has a length of 2,500m and is an absolute "must".

On my bike tour today, I made the first stop in Wemding and I liked the city from the start. The center with the gilded Marian column: simply beautiful.

According to the sign on site, it is an express train locomotive "01 220". This type of locomotive was stationed in the former Treuchtlingen depot and mainly drove on the Frankfurt-Munich route and beyond. For the 100th birthday of the Treuchtlinger Bahnhof, the monument locomotive was set up here by the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
