The chapel is open. Take your time to read the plaques - they explain the background of the Ottilien Chapel. If you want, you can pull the rope and ring the bells.

The watchtower was built in 1422 to protect against the Counts of Zollern at the time of the city wars, when the County of Hohenberg was pledged to a consortium of 19 Swabian imperial cities. Next to the Schütteturm is the Ottilien chapel, built around 1431, which was visited as a place of pilgrimage by many eye sufferers. In 1900, three Horber clubs renovated it as an observation tower. Steep climb up the Way of the Cross, but worth it. You have a wonderful view of Horb and the Neckar valley - just enjoy the panorama. 👍🤩

Idyllic vantage point Unfortunately, the direct route is more and more impaired by MTB and motocross. Please take care of the beautiful juniper heather with gold and silver thistles and drive down or up the wide path.
