Impressive historic bridge. Unfortunately a lot of traffic and very narrow for pedestrians.

Very narrow streets and a lot of traffic. When we visited there were still market stalls set up around which the cars swerved very quickly. Partly dangerous with the bike.

The Salzach Bridge is one of the most beautiful bridges in Europe and is the most important link between the town of Oberndorf and the Bavarian town of Laufen. The construction of the bridge was a joint initiative of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and the Kingdom of Bavaria, with the costs being shared. The length of the bridge is 165 m. The total weight is around 715 tonnes. Even today, this bridge is the only crossing of the Salzach for vehicles between the motorway bridge in Salzburg and the Tittmoning bridge and proved to be very stable during the floods in 1920, 1954, 1959 and 2002.
