The Kocherburg served the Ellwangen bailiffs primarily as the seat of the administrative district of the same name, "Amt Kochenburg". From the Kocher-Jagst cycle path you should definitely take the short detour to Kapfenburg. The inner courtyard is freely accessible and the castle is simply worth seeing. Since 1999, the international music school academy at Schloss Kapfenberg has had its headquarters here. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by classical music as we toured the farm. A complete tour of the castle is only possible as part of a guided tour.
