A document dated February 2nd, 1881 shows that the hiker was already being offered hospitality. The hosted refuge is one of the oldest of its kind in the German-speaking area and has survived all this time almost unchanged and undamaged!

Nice little restaurant with hearty and sweet treats as a reward when hiking. Reasonable prices, good selection, friendly. Dogs are also welcome.

The poppy tent in the middle of the poppy blossom in Germerode is always worth a visit. A nice place to stay.

Open during the poppy season, you will find delicious poppy seed products (and some without poppy seeds). Tastes really good here
