There is a little cafe above the main car park for a coffee and cake after the "gift shop" labelled walks. As usual, Komoot makes the walk easier than using signposts - remember to download to the phone app. Kayaking/canoeing around the lake is only possible for about half of it due to a protected bird sanctuary.

Great bike shop at the Oswestry car park where you can get your bike fixed and serviced. Good café where you can talk to fellow cyclists. They also do a weekly cycle ride from here every Sunday morning.

Amazing dam - there are some plaque's at the end of it to note some of the key dates. Impressive structure. I visited out of season and it was really tranquil.

Great views back down the valley to the west with Mynydd y Bryn at 334m to the southwest and the Cynllaith valley to the west. Once you climb a bit further to the high point at 318m you can see east towards Oswestry.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is a beautiful small village in north Powys. it is famous for its nearby iconic waterfall which brings in visitors by the thousands each year. Set in a hilly lush green countryside it is a nice place to break off for a coffee and a bite to eat.
