There should be something for everyone between the picturesque old town with its many shops, the iconic basilica with its well-kept monastery garden and the banks of the Main with the ferry to Bavaria.

Must see the Johannisburg in Aschaffenburg. It can be seen from a long way off. The old town of Aschaffenburg didn't blow me away like that.

A footpath goes from Johannisburg Castle to the Pompejanum. From there you have a very nice view of the castle and the Main.
