A cozy hut near the Great Boot, perfect for a break after a climb. It offers benches, a lovely forest atmosphere, and occasionally drinks or snacks during events or on weekends. Ideal for a rest stop during hikes around the Great Boot—especially when the hut is open.

They are only open on Sundays, from 10am to 6pm, but then there are always small dishes and cakes that the club members have baked themselves

This rustic hut of the PWV St. Ingbert was built in 1912 (see door lintel). About the name: Heinrich Kohl (*01.12.1873; +06.11.1936) from Neustadt/Weinstr. was a pioneer and very active co-founder of the PWV (in 1902). At that time, the forest area of the Kingdom of Bavaria on the left bank of the Rhine included not only the Palatinate, but also parts of what is now Saarland.

There are delicious cakes, but unfortunately already closed again

The path to the pond is not accessible (from the bunker after the curve). During our hiking tour, the path was destroyed by forestry machines with ruts and mud.

Here on Sundays, when the weather is good, you can eat something from the swivel grill in addition to the normal dishes

There is a restaurant on the bank of the pond (Die Fischerhütte), where you can fortify yourself on your bike tour.

Quaint - a bit "like in the past" at private parties. friendly service, Playground equipment for (smaller) children. Those who have already outgrown the mini slide can pursue other play activities on the meadow or in the forest - should also be suitable for a longer stay. We cycled past on a sunny Sunday afternoon, it was open and the shaded areas outside were well attended. The hut also seems to be accessible entirely via asphalt - at least in addition to bicycles, electric scooters, motorcycles and cars could also be seen.
