The correct name is "Neutor" (New Gate). Enjoy a pleasant, leisurely ride through the old town center to the highlight: the Erpel town gate. The Neutor is part of the second town fortifications, built around 1420, which were needed after Erpel expanded to the north. Cycled past on my 13th stage of the Rhine Cycle Route. The black, stubby bridgeheads are clearly visible from afar. The Remagen Peace Museum Bridge ❗️❗️ The plaque explains this historic site. Historic, worth seeing, and a memorial to the past. 🔝
