The Hermit’s Cave is a folly that was built around 1790. The folly leads down a long, dark tunnel before emerging from the darkness to reveal a striking view of the waterfall across the gorge.
Lovely woods where you may see deer, red squirrels and plenty of birds including nuthatches and woodpeckers. Nice walks all around the woods but can get very muddy at times.
Great off road section for running or hiking. Just don’t ride this section after the suspension bridge. It’s hike a bike for a lot until a track further up.
