The woodland features different types of flowers throughout the spring and early summer, while winter is a good time to see geese and other waterfowl. Fungi can also be found in the autumn.

Lochmaben Castle is a ruined 14th-century castle located on the shore of Castle Loch in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Access to the castle's ruins, is currently restricted for safety reasons due to unstable masonry.

The club is located at Castle Loch and offers training courses as well as racing.

Great place for walking and paddling on the water

Despite the houses on the horizon, you can see Castle Loch qyite well from this set back, elevated approach. There are signs saying the Loch walk is 3 miles long

The track around the loch has maybe 150 to 200mtrs of jetty, similar to what you get at boat marinas. The earth under the jettys is wet and low level, it looks like marshland. The jettys must be 4ft wide so easy to ride on and pass people with horn warning
