Great walking and wheeling path.

After the smooth gravel on the north side of Glen Avon, you'll encounter more rugged and adventurous trails here. However, as in the rest of the Scottish Highlands, the higher up the climb, the more beautiful the scenery becomes. With a gravel bike or mountain bike, you can enjoy beautiful cycling all the way to Loch Builg, or beyond.

An easily fordable spot in the river. I rode my gravel bike through it with luggage without any problems. You'll probably get wet feet, but that's normal in the Scottish Highlands.

I couldn't help but laugh when I encountered some randonneur cyclists with large panniers on the singletrack along Loch Builg; for them, this wasn't a pleasant experience. However, on my gravel bike with wide tires, I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful trail along Loch Builg and the stunning views that come with it. A truly beautiful and secluded spot in nature.

In Glen Builg, we were regularly pleasantly surprised by beautiful views that suddenly appeared. It made our journey through this valley even more beautiful than expected.

Although Loch Builg is very beautiful, it's not a highlight for a road bike. A gravel bike or mountain bike is required to reach this location.

One of the best gravel roads in the Cairngorms. In equally beautiful scenery, you climb smoothly along the road without ever feeling the strain. Continue south, and you'll have a perfect gravel experience. If you use this path to cycle towards Glen Avon, the fun ends there, because once past this section, you'll encounter technical singletrack and trails higher up in Glen Builg, before you can continue your ride in Glen Avon at a more relaxed pace. Whatever you ride, it's beautiful everywhere, and this section is worth it for anyone with a gravel bike or mountain bike.
