The Dernbacher Kopf is the second highest elevation in the Neuwied district. A visit to the summit stone is always worth a visit. The surrounding area offers beautiful views toward the Montabaurer Höhe or the Eifel Mountains.

This dream tour of the quality trail "Wanderbaren Deutschland", which took 8th place in "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2019", leads over the panorama trail Waldbreitbach to the Jewish cemetery and then follows rustic paths to the summit cross of the Bärenkopp, a vantage point at a height of 304 meters a fantastic view of the idyllic valley near Waldbreitbach.

Start at the Gasbitze campsite and dare to dabble across the Jewish cemetery, the way up is definitely worth it, the view is magnificent. Maybe take a detour to the white cross and then enjoy the Bärenkopp view, over the Höh at the Appolonia chapel in the direction of Marienhaus down to the Kreuz chapel in Waldbreitbach, it's worth going over the bridge and taking the path to the monastery and stopping at the monastery church there. Back towards Wiedtal, take the junction past the Mariengrotte and follow the path on this side (the so-called Fratzeholzchen) past the Wied back to the campsite 😊
