The Protestant village church of Schenkenberg is a neo-baroque hall church. The original building was built in 1685 and was a branch church of Baumgarten. On September 11, 1898, there was a fire on the neighboring estate for unknown reasons. Due to strong winds, the fire spread to the adjacent farm buildings and ultimately to the church. In April 1900, work began on the reconstruction in the neo-baroque style. They were carried out quickly, so that the topping-out ceremony took place at Pentecost on June 6, 1900. The new church consecration was celebrated on November 7, 1900. [...] The choir is three-sided and not recessed. The walls are covered with a light, smooth plaster, while the corners are made of ashlar plaster. In each of the three fields there is a narrow, segmental arch-shaped window with a wedge stone. The shape of the windows is further emphasized by bezels that match the color of the ashlar plaster. At the transition to the slate-covered roof there is a surrounding haunch. The nave has a rectangular floor plan and is comparatively simple. There are three tall rectangular windows on the north and south walls, which reflect the shape of the choir windows. Under the middle window there is a suggested or former gate, also with emphasized bezels and wedge stone. Without more detailed examinations, no statement can be made about the function of the panels. However, it is possible and conceivable that these could have been the original entrances to the building from the 17th century. The western corners of the building are also covered in ashlar plaster. There is also a cove at the transition to the eaves. The ship has a hipped mansard roof covered with slate.
