from Wikipedia: The Vorwerk also includes another protective wall in front of the southern outer curtain wall with a late Gothic outer gate, which, in addition to direct access to the castle from the city, enables access from the unpopulated country side and the Hattsteiner Hof located at the foot of the Münzenberg. Only fragments of the wall, which partially shielded the deer garden, remain, while the gate in the Gothic pointed arch has been preserved.
