The Church of the Annunciation of Mary (Navještenja Marijina) stands on the eastern side of the square. Dating back to the 16th century, it has a trefoil Renaissance façade constructed from local stone. The interior of the church contains five marble altars and as many altarpieces attributed to the Venetian school of painting. On the main altar, whose construction was financed by the Grimani family, is a painting of the Annunciation by Giuseppe Porta-Salvati. The same altar is adorned with an image of the Madonna with angels, Saint Sebastian, and Saint Roch, by Palma the Younger. The church preserves the relics of Saint Victoria, which were brought to Svetvinčenat from Rome in the 17th century.

The parish church of Bale (Valle d'Istria), dedicated to the Visitation of Mary to Saint Elizabeth, is a 19th-century white stone building, completed and dedicated in 1882, built on the ruins of older churches, including a 9th-century basilica. It is located in the center of the village and preserves remains of the earlier buildings in a crypt converted into a lapidarium.

Forno Fortress, built in 1904 by the Austro-Hungarian Navy, was a key link in the defense system that protected Pula from attacks from the sea. Although it has undergone some modifications over time, today it is a notable historical landmark. The fortress can be visited from the outside, and from its summit you can enjoy a splendid view of the sea and the Brijuni archipelago. Today, Fort Forno hosts numerous theatrical performances and cultural events.

There were settlements in the Valle area as early as the pre-Romanesque period, when the Histrian hillforts stood on these hills. Later, during the centuries of the Roman Empire, the fortification or castrum of today's Valle, built by Caius Pulcrus, served to defend the salt trade routes between Pula and the interior of Istria. The ancient Roman castrum was fortified in the Middle Ages: it took the name Castrum Vallis, or Valle, in 965 AD. Valle d'Istria was one of the main Histrian centers and was first part of the Patriarchate of Aquileia and then of the Republic of Venice until 1797. Saint Giuliano da Valle was born and lived here in the 14th century. Today, it is a town of just over a thousand inhabitants, located at 145 meters above sea level, whose historic center is surrounded by valleys (karst sinkholes) and lush hills that are a major tourist attraction. Today the centre of Valle/Bale, with its clear Venetian influence, is under protection and a destination for cultural tourism.
