The bridge over the Vils is currently closed (as of January 2024) and is being renovated. Crossing the Vils either via the Balkspitz or on the B299.

Worth seeing museum in the center of the city of Vilsbiburg The Holy Spirit Hospital was founded as a retirement home in 1476 by Caspar Westendorfer from Vilsbiburg, then pastor of St. Jodok in Landshut. Vilsbiburg Local History Museum since 1958. The hospital church was built as St. Catherine's Church. According to various stylistic features inside, it was probably built around 1400. The hospital church can still be visited today. The Vilsbiburg local history museum – Kröninger Hafnermuseum houses a valuable collection of regional culture. It was compiled, organized and presented to the public over more than 100 years - today in the listed historical hospital ensemble in the heart of Vilsbiburg. Ten key themes guide you through the history of the city and old district of Vilsbiburg. Thanks to the largest department and extensive research into the Kröninger pottery craft, the museum attracts guests and experts from near and far. Several generations of committed volunteers grew with the work in the museum and with them the museum grew. Today it is known beyond local borders and is considered an important museum in the Bavarian museum landscape. Built between 1870 and 1897 in neo-Romanesque style instead of a church from 1836. Founded as a pilgrimage in 1686 by chimney sweep Donatus Barnabas Orelli. New buildings and renovations in 1687, 1704, 1793/96, 1836, 1870 and 1952/62. Monastery built in 1827, expanded in 1851 and 1873. Towers built in 1880 and 1885 respectively.

The upper gate tower was built as part of the fortifications in the 15th century. Renaissance hood around 1540. Market tower keeper's apartment until the beginning of the 20th century. The majority of the curtain walls were demolished shortly after 1800.
