The Rote Moor is also located directly on the Hochrhön hiking trail. It's just as beautiful as the Black Moor, just different. In the Red Moor there is a Carpathian birch forest, which here has its westernmost extent in Central Europe. Absolutely worth seeing.

Unfortunately, the rote moor was largely removed from peat by the 1980s. Only 5 hectares of the raised bog remained, which, according to the information board, is not sufficient to regenerate on its own.

Just beautiful. Fast trail, with narrow and steep places. Do you have to be careful? It's worth it!
