The view from up here is quite remarkable. There are a few weathered benches there, but they're not very inviting.

Great all-round view

The "summit" of the Steimelskopf lies in the middle of a pasture area and is only recommended when the weather and vegetation are suitable. In the midst of a heather landscape, you can enjoy a wonderful view from up here over the Lahn valley to the Galgenberg in Villmar, the Goldenen Grund, the Mensfelder Kopf and the Limburg Basin. The Rhine Taunus and the southern Westerwald greet you from the background.

One should take the time to climb this hill. If only because of the excellent all-round view of the Taunus, Limburg Basin, Westerwald and direct line of sight to the Dünsberg. When we arrived at the Heidehäuschen, it was just beginning to get dark. We then went back with a helmet lamp and at the "summit" itself we didn't see that much anymore. The trail coming from Oberweyer was quite demanding towards the end and no longer ridable due to the damp ground. The trail on the opposite side downhill towards Hangenmeilingen was quite muddy, but easy to ride. Here and there a little tree lay across. Definitely was fun...
