This is a lovely avenue for cycling, slightly undulating, with a descent near Volkmannsdorf. There the Amper flows into the Isar and the Kämper Bräu beer garden is very close by.

The road is pleasantly wide and there is little traffic. What's more, it goes through the forest and you can admire the Isar.

The climb is decent and goes on for a while. At the end you end up in the countryside and you can cycle across the bypass road. However, you shouldn't cycle the other way round, as the descent along the main road is preferable.

For centuries, the moated castle has shaped the image and history of Taufkirchen an der Vils, an Upper Bavarian community in the eastern district of Erding. When and by whom the castle was originally built is not known. Traces of a seat of power in this place can be traced back to the Middle Ages.
