The Rote Sand Chapel is the sixth and final chapel on the chapel trail. A plaque next to the entrance provides a brief overview of the chapel's history.

Knappenkuchl, Schwaz Silver Mine The Knappenkuchl in Schwaz, located right next to the silver mine, pampers its guests in a special atmosphere reminiscent of the miners' days. The Knappenkuchl offers à la carte delicacies as well as set menus for groups and a wide range of options for events, celebrations, company parties, and family gatherings. Our guest area comprises a restaurant with 65 seats, a separate private room (perfect for smaller occasions such as family meals, meetings, etc.) with 25 seats, and a terrace with an additional 90 seats outdoors. The Discovery of "Schwaz Silver" Above Schwaz, in the Kogelmoos area, the maid Gertraud Kandlerin was tending her cattle. In a fit of rage, the bull of the herd churned up the grassy ground with his horns and hooves, uncovering colorful, shiny stones. The maid carried these stones home, where they were soon recognized as ore. The "Kandlerin" and "St. Jakob am Stier" mines are among the oldest at the "Falkenstein" (Falcon Stone), and the bull is still featured in the coat of arms of the municipality of Gallzein. "According to legend, the first silver was found there by a bull! Then they ravaged the mountains! From the valley floor to the mountain passes, they dug holes upon holes! Only the spoil heaps remain! In memory of the good old days! In the forest garden in the Silver Forest, native shrubs and herbs grow and are carefully cared for. There is also a large insect house and lots of lovely details.

A quaint, old chapel in a new location: In 2016, the Maria Zell Chapel, which was previously only accessible on foot, was moved by helicopter to make it more accessible for more people. Today it stands right at the start of the Schwaz Chapel Trail.

The Bucher Bach gorge is a wild natural spectacle. The wild water rushes through the deep gorge. You should definitely take your time here.
