Surrounded by mountainous heights, lies the Valley of 1000 Springs in Bad Eisenkappel. Down in the valley and on many hills, cold, mineral-rich springs bubble from the depths of nature. Hike the Mineral Springs Adventure Trail; it will make your heart and soul soar. You can explore this trail either by bike or on foot.

Great place to linger. The Drau and Vellach rivers flow together here. You can sunbathe on the gravel bed and refresh yourself in the rivers.

It rises in the Steiner Alps and flows, always heading north, first through the mountainous Vellachtal, which covers the municipality of Eisenkappel-Vellach, between the Steiner Alps, the Petzen and Obir massifs. After the town of Rechberg, it leaves its narrow valley and enters the Jauntal, only to merge into the Drau after a short distance near Gallizien.
