The first mention of a family “von Huffe” comes from a document from 1229. However, the connection to the corresponding farm in Hüffe is uncertain. The Hüffe manor was first mentioned in 1439.

In front of the actual castle there are farm buildings and also a smaller, very beautifully designed residential building. Maybe from the manager?!

It is believed that Hollwinkel Castle was founded at the end of the 13th century by a Holle family who were expelled from the Hildesheim region. Bishop Otto I of Minden is said to have granted the future castle as a fiefdom.

The Stockhausen estate, also known as Stockhausen Castle or Stockhausen House, is a moated castle on the southwestern edge of the Lübbecke town of Stockhausen. Its beginnings are not exactly known, but go back at least to the 14th century.
