Coming from Krefeld, the path leads through a green strip, past the Holtmoers-Kull into the Niepkuhlen nature reserve.

Part of the path runs just a few meters from the A52 - there is no relaxation there.

Next to the Deußstraße coming from the city forest and on the adjoining present-day Hermann-Kresse-Weg lay the route of the former tram line 12 to Moers along Holtmoers-Kull, Verberger Kull and Riethbenden-Kull. Lines 9 and 10 also ran here to the Verberg stop, which was at Holtmoers-Kull on Heyenbaumstrasse. In the vernacular, the stop was also called "Marcelli", after the restaurant that is still nearby today. The double-track route from the city area had a siding with two switches and a dead end track and then continued on as a single track to Traar, where the next siding was. With the discontinuation of line 12 on November 3rd, 1963, the glory of the tram came to an end and since then the bus has traveled to Moers under the same line number. The path laid out on the former tram route is named after Hermann Kresse, *8/27/1868 in Braunschweig, † 4/6/1958 in Krefeld. Hermann Kresse came to Krefeld in 1910 after years of apprenticeship and travel. From 1912 he was chief gardener on the Scheven family estate on the Busenpfad in Verberg. Here he resided and tended 30 acres of garden land. In 1921 he founded the Verberg gardening association and was a co-founder of the town and district association of gardening associations.
