Portugal, especially inland, is full of river beaches where you can swim. The Caparrosa River Beach, an Oasis in Caramulo Inland, rivers are one of the most popular attractions on hot days. This is the case of the Caparrosa River system in the Serra do Caramulo. The water flowing along the Caparrosa River beach descends along the Caramulo mountain range. It arrives clear and cold, but not cold enough to prevent a healthy and refreshing swim in the summer season, which in Portugal can be very hot. This recreational area in Caparrosa, in the municipality of Tondela, is a kind of oasis where you can recharge your batteries for those exploring the natural heritage of the Serra do Caramulo. There is also a bar and restaurant on site. PLEASE NOTE: This place is enchanting in all seasons, where you can see and photograph the changing colors of nature.

The tourist information office begins at the southern entrance to Agueda, just to the left behind the bridge. You can ask for the key to the toilet there. The Cercosa Dam, on the Alfusqueiro river in Vouzela, district of Viseu, began operations in 1994. It is a gravity dam with a hydroelectric plant, capable of producing 9.65 Mio. kWh annually.

São João do Monte River Beach, also known as Paraíso River Beach, is a calm and great place to spend the day by the river. It offers infrastructure such as a bar, snacks and bathrooms, as well as a historic Romanesque bridge.
