Very large parking lot! Asphalted mountain road from Maria Lankowitz to just below the Almhaus. Only the last kilometer is a forest path with loose ground. Address: Kemetberg 60 8591 Maria Lankowitz

Be careful: If you want to continue on to the Bernstein Hut, the markings are unclear! The yellow ÖAV sign points to the right, onto a meadow path, but you're tempted to continue along the forest road (also on the right). The path across the meadow on the far right is the correct one!

It's only worth going up there by bike to visit the castle. The way back down to the sewage treatment plant is better on foot.

The Krems castle ruins are located east of the municipality of Voitsberg in Styria in the district of Krems. The history of the castle goes back to the 11th or 12th century, when the archbishop of Salzburg had it built. It was first mentioned in a document in 1248. Krems was repeatedly owned by larger noble families, who, however, usually commissioned caretakers or administrators to manage the estate. In the 14th century, Krems held the lower jurisdiction and in the 16th century the castle was expanded into a Renaissance castle with a zoo. In the 17th century, Count Karl Saurau acquired the property and merged it with his Ligist lordship. After moving administration to Ligist Castle in 1730, he neglected Krems and left it to decay. In 1817 part of the castle slipped down after a rain shower. Archduke Johann bought it in 1857. Information from https://maps.sygic.com/

A short stay is always recommended in Bärnbach our church. The design by Hundertwasser and the golden roof can be seen from afar.

The Roman Catholic parish church Bärnbach, commonly known as Hundertwasserkirche, is located in the municipality of Bärnbach in the Voitsberg district in Styria. It is consecrated to Saint Barbara and belongs to the Voitsberg deanery. The church is a listed building. [1] The church, built in the post-war period, was redesigned in 1987/1988 by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
