A wonderfully easy trail via Wimbach Castle to the Wimbachgries Hut. The trail is easy to walk and has a moderate ascent.

It's a worthwhile hike to Wimbach Castle. The further route to Wimbachgries is a bit more challenging. It crosses Grieß several times, which is a bit more difficult, and the trail is long and constantly uphill. The view along the way makes up for it, though. The hut is truly beautiful, and from here you have a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks.

A real powerhouse, especially in the rear.

It is impressive to see the masses of rock that are at work here.

The Wimbachgries is a special natural phenomenon: The gravel mass, which is up to 300 m wide and around 10 km long, is ground dolomite rock that is still in motion, even though the Wimbach runs underground here. Particularly during heavy rain, the debris flow rises, moves and changes the landscape.
