In addition to its pastoral duties, the monastery operates its own brewery, the Stiftsbrauerei Schlägl, which is known for its diverse beer specialties. The monastery offers tours of the historic rooms, including the monastery church, the crypt and the library. The monastery cellar also invites you to linger with regional delicacies and house beers.

The Bärnlochweg is a circular hiking trail along the Osterbach on the border between Germany and Austria. The route begins in the center of Oberkappel and initially leads on the German side through the idyllic Bärnloch nature reserve. The total length of the trail is approximately 13 km.

The path leads to the summit on the right. From there you can see the Dreisessel, Steinernes Meer and Plöckenstein.
