A very nice hut on the Pielachtal circular hiking trail 651, very friendly people, ideal for resting and there is also a beautiful view.

It's best to arrive straight away by train, as the Mariazellerbahn is one of the most beautiful railway routes in Austria. You can start the hike through the Ötschergräben at different stations and return from another. A stop at Ötscherhias is also part of it.

Simple hut, which is run on a voluntary basis by members of the St. Pölten Mountain Association. Open from early May to early November on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. When the hut is not open, there is a freely accessible winter room with two beds available. We were given a very friendly welcome. The hut is right next to the summit of the Türnitzer Höger.

Was there today too and pushed my e-bike a kilometer to the hut with lots of swear words :-). When I got to the top I saw that there is now also a gravel road up :-) So if you want to go to the hut by bike, then definitely take the road!
