Unfortunately, there is a lot of excursion traffic on the route, so many cars. If you drive in the direction of Fribourg, there is almost always a headwind. The road is also very exposed, with no forest or shade. They are easy to drive, but there are better routes.

The amphitheater of Avenches is certainly one of the most impressive legacies of Roman culture. The medieval bishop's tower at the entrance houses the Roman museum. The amphitheater and tower are within shouting distance of the castle entrance. Right next door, visitors can use a large paid parking lot. The amphitheater is also the starting point for the other Roman sights in the Avanches area.
