The hut can be reached from the Schafferteich near Vorderstoder (2 hours), from the Rotbuchner car park near Roßleiten (2 hours) or from the Sengstschmied guesthouse (2:30 hours).

The crucifix above the hut, carved by Reinhold Hüttmann in 1981, was put up again in the summer of 2011 after restoration (in memory of the artist *1920 +2010)

away from the red wall to the Dümlerhütte hardly a normal hiking trail. lots of rubble and sure-footedness required.

Self-service in the guest garden is probably not a recommendation for a cozy mountain hut

Excellent curd strudel. Pork roast with dumplings. Accessible by car. playground for children. sunbeds. Very friendly staff. Only about 10 minutes on foot after the exit of the gorge.
