Great facility, freely accessible. Good panoramic view from the top.

The castle was lovingly reconstructed and partially rebuilt in 25,000 hours of work. The staircase in the tower is certainly very laborious and expensive for visitors to the castle. The castle is located along the castle hiking trail and the Enzmilner hiking trail.

Mauthausen is a nice little place

The market square of Wallsee is the historical center of the market town of Wallsee-Sindelburg and is located on the site of a former Roman fort, the extent of which has been archaeologically confirmed. For centuries, it was the hub of local trade and social life, ever since Wallsee was granted market rights in 1362. Today, the square presents a tranquil village atmosphere and is characterized by striking features such as the Emperor's Jubilee Obelisk, erected in 1910 in honor of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Thanks to its well-maintained appearance, proximity to Wallsee Castle, and excellent transport links, the market square is a worthwhile destination for a tour or a spontaneous detour off the beaten track. The peaceful atmosphere invites visitors to linger, and numerous restaurants and cafes offer pleasant breaks after their journey.
