The Roman Catholic pilgrimage church of Maria Schmolln is located in the municipality of Maria Schmolln in the district of Braunau in Upper Austria.

There are some steep climbs on the way up to the wind farm. It is interesting to see the wind farm. Unfortunately there is no view as the wind edges were built into the forest.

This is a nice and leisurely tour that shows you the nature and culture of the region. 😊 The tour is 8.6 km long and has a vertical drop of 76 m. It is rated as easy and does not require any special equipment or physical condition. The tour starts at the Teichstätt wetland, a small lake with a jetty and a shelter. The lake is a habitat for many plants and animals, such as reeds, water lilies, frogs and dragonflies. You follow the path along the lake and then turn left towards Valentinhaft. Valentinhaft is a small town with a church worth seeing that is dedicated to Saint Valentine. The church was built in the 15th century and has a Gothic choir and a Baroque tower. You can visit the church or light a candle. From Valentinhaft you continue towards Kolming, a hamlet with about 47 inhabitants. On the way you will pass a beautiful vantage point from which you have a view of the Kobernausserwald. The Kobernausserwald is the largest contiguous forest in Austria and a popular hiking and recreation area. You will then reach Kolming, where you can stop at Gasthaus Wirt'z Kolming. The inn is a family-run business with a cozy guest garden and regional cuisine. There you can strengthen yourself or just enjoy the atmosphere.

The Schwemmbach is a small stream that flows through the Kobernausserwald in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria. It rises near the village of Munderfing and flows into the Mattig. The stream was formerly used to drift wood that was cut from the Kobernausserwald. The trunks were transported on the water until they were taken out of the creek at a collection point. Today the Schwemmbach is an idyllic place surrounded by forests, meadows and fields. The creek provides habitat for many animals such as fish, frogs, dragonflies and birds. If you want to visit the Schwemmbach, you can take a nice hike or bike ride along the stream. There is a cycling and hiking trail called "Via Nova - Triftweg" that will bring you closer to the history and nature of the Schwemmbach. The path also leads you to a great bathing spot where you can refresh yourself in the clear water. The bathing area is near the village of Lengau and is accessible free of charge. You can also have a picnic there or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
