This mill was located at one of the fords in the Pram River, which is why our ancestors called it the "Furthmühle." For centuries, the Furthmühle was an important agricultural and commercial enterprise. Approximately 140 millers from 12 communities supplied the mill with their grain. Until the period between the two World Wars, "Mauthen" (toll collection) was common practice at the mill. The farmer paid nothing for the milling, while the miller kept ten percent of the grain as a toll. In addition to the head miller, two miller's apprentices worked at the Furthmühle. The sawmill had three to six employees, with occasional day laborers joining in, such as when loading timber. Two farmhands and two maids worked on the farm, which had approximately 30 yokes of land (10 of which were forest). The "Müllnerstubn" (mill owner's room) was a meeting place for all family members and servants. A small power plant supplied part of the Pram estate with electricity since electrification began around 1918. Two additional storage batteries were available for peak consumption (e.g., during balls or weddings). In 1922, the Pram Light Company was founded and took over the Furthmühle's electricity customers. In 1992, the Furthmühle Cultural Association was founded and began the renovation and repair work as the operator of the site. Three years later, the facility opened for public viewing. In 2001, the Furthmühle joined the Association of Upper Austrian Open-Air Museums. Opening hours: May 1 to October 31 on Sundays and public holidays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and by appointment by phone at +43 677 63 15 94 29 or by email at office@furthmuehle.at

A beautiful Gothic church with an interesting side aisle with an altar dedicated to St. Sebastian. Unfortunately, there are no benches to rest on around the church.

The Weibern parish church in the Hausruck district, dedicated to Saint Stephen, was built around 1500 in the late Gothic style. A wooden church that could have been consecrated to St. Lawrence is probably the predecessor of this parish church. Since Weibern is mentioned as a "vivarium" (pond) in documents as early as 785, the possibility of this cannot be dismissed out of hand.

The Aistersheim moated castle is one of the most beautiful in Upper Austria. The entire castle stands on a myriad of wooden pilots and is completely surrounded by water. Two massive wooden bridges lead to the two large entrance gates. Although it was actually a defensive structure that has been besieged several times throughout history, the builders managed to create one of the finest examples of late Renaissance architecture. A visit or an inspection of this beautiful building is worthwhile!

About 1,300 years ago, Christianity may have gained a foothold in this area. So it can be assumed that the evangelization of the Trattnachtal was carried out by the messengers of the faith of Saint Robert from Salzburg. But as I said, this consideration is only to be accepted. The first church in Taufkirchen an der Trattnach was probably a wooden church. Due to the lack of historical documents, the age of the parish cannot be determined exactly. The epitaph was probably erected in 1607, since Grimmelius died in 1617. Grimmelius created the oldest Urban in 1600. The outside of the church is also adorned with old tombstones made of red marble next to the sacristy outside door from 1553. The oldest tombstone points to a priest. Letters that are still legible and the gothic goblet shape reveal that the jewel is from the 15th century. It adorns the bell tower of the church tower. The largest epitaph came as an "entry stone" in front of the main portal of the church. Because of the heavy weight and the illegible inscription, the walls were not walled in. It may have fallen victim to a pickaxe later when the church square was renovated. The grave monuments mentioned lay on the floor of the nave and were walled in under Pastor Klinger in 1899.

The late Gothic parish church was built around 1500 and is dedicated to Saint Stephen. The nave consists of a single-nave, five-bay nave whose ribbed vault is formed from octagonal stars. On the north side of the nave is a large oil painting depicting the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and the apostles at Pentecost in Jerusalem. The main focus in the church is the richly decorated high altar, which is in the presbytery. The high altar, the two side altars and the pulpit were most likely made in 1687. On the south side of the nave is the Marienaltar, which depicts Mary with the baby Jesus. On the north side of the nave is the Michaelmas altar, which shows Archangel Michael with a flaming sword. The pulpit is also very interesting. It shows the evangelists Matthew, Luke, Mark and John on the parapet. In an extension to the nave you will find the Marienkapelle, in which there is a Gothic baptismal font. The Bavarian sculptor Kupka created the larger-than-life Madonna and Child.

From 2012 to 2015 I rented a tower apartment with my wife Hund zwei and two cats and it was not expensive at all. Approx. 850.- / including operating costs. I don't know what it looks like now. In any case, it was an adventure of a lifetime
