There is a beautiful view of the Zirbitzkogel and down into the Lavant valley. You can also see the charcoal hut. unfortunately there is no summit book.

Very nice hiking destination, which can be quite challenging in the snowy months. When the weather is nice, a great view of the Mur and Lavant valleys; And a view that shows Styria from a perspective that is foreign to East Styrians ;) The weather is difficult to assess and in mid-August can change quickly between rain and sunshine several times. Hood over 2000m is always good.

Wonderful view and beautiful summit cross. From up here you can see endless distances when the weather is nice. The Zirbitzkogel is well attended, which is why it is usually difficult to find a place at the Zirbitzkogel shelter. You can choose from different routes to the Zirbitzkogel. Whether easy or strenuous. There is something for everybody. The route from the Waldheimhütte is particularly beautiful.

At 1,924m, the Rappoldkogel is the highest mountain in the Stubalpe and is very accessible all year round. Either from the Altes Almhaus, always in a beautiful alpine landscape, always along the easily walkable alpine path and climb the mountain from the front over two peaks. Or choose the somewhat steeper ascent from the Salzstiegelhaus over the idyllic alpine landscape, which can also be divided into an ascent with easy climbing or the normal route. The Rappoldkogel is also very suitable for climbing several peaks in the region. For example from the Gaberl over the Brandkogel and the Alte Almhaus / Marienstatue to the Rappold and back. Not a very high mountain but it has some steep passages to offer. The view into the Murtal and towards West Styria is simply great when the weather is good.
