2월 18, 2026, Gipfelkreuz Geschriebenstein
The small sacred monument we encounter on the Geschriebenstein, in the form of a summit cross, is—besides the view it offers—perhaps also the perfect place for a brief moment of reflection. A few years ago, Christiane Völkel commented on the wonderfully fitting sentence by the Italian poet Francesco Petrarch (who lived in the 14th century), "Everywhere one has heaven above oneself," as follows: "What is the use of prayer? This question moves me (...) I have found for myself the answer and the certainty that when I pray I am with the Lord, or rather, that when I pray he is often noticeably closer to me than usual. Thus, I retain the possibility of pouring out my heart to him (...) This intimacy with him makes me believe in him."

“Behold, the Heart of the Redeemer—an understandable sign of his indomitable love and an inexhaustible source of true peace. In him ‘all the fullness of God truly dwells’ (Col 2:9). The peace that Christ brought to earth comes precisely from this fullness and this love. It is the gift of a loving God, who loved humanity in the heart of his only begotten Son. ‘He is our peace’ (cf. Phil 2:14)—cry Saint Paul. Yes, Jesus is peace, he is our reconciliation. (…) As we venerate his Sacred Heart today, we pray earnestly for peace: first, for peace in our hearts, but also for peace in our families, in our country, and throughout the world: Heart of Jesus, our peace and our reconciliation, have mercy on us!” (Address of Pope John Paul II on June 7, 1999, in Toruń, Poland)

In the last part you can choose between red and black, I would describe the red part as very difficult.

I really liked the Batthyány Trail. In my opinion it is a red trail and is very varied. The ground is rather rocky at the beginning and the trail is still a bit flat. Here, too, some uphill sections are not as numerous and boring as on the Esterhaźy Trail, but rather steeper and more technical. The trail can be driven fast, is narrow and there is one switchback after the other. If you choose the black line almost towards the end of the trail, you can really get ready for something. It gets extremely steep, in sloping terrain and one tight hairpin follows the next! This part really requires courage and skill, but once you've done it you can be very happy about it and feel really good! (Me at least) I would recommend the Batthyány Trail to more advanced bikers, but anyone can try it, but caution is advised always drive on the blue or red line and not on the black opportunities. And certainly not at all with the last one is a solid S3 the part with the switchbacks.

7월 15, 2022, Franz Liszt Birthplace
Franz Liszt was born in this house on October 22, 1811. With its 6 rooms, it used to be the stateliest house in this area. Today it houses a museum. Directly opposite is a modern concert hall. The house is certainly the top highlight in Raiding and worth a visit. Guided tour dates and admission prices can be found on the homepage.

As already mentioned in other comments, not exactly at the summit, but it definitely deserves the designation as a summit cross. Beautiful aluminum cross anchored on a rock. At the right time of year and day, it can also be wonderfully depicted with the sun in the background.

22 October 1811 – 31 July 1886) was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, music teacher, arranger, and organist of the Romantic era. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of all time.[1] He was also a writer, philanthropist, Hungarian nationalist, and Franciscan tertiary. Liszt gained renown in Europe during the early nineteenth century for his prodigious virtuosic skill as a pianist.[2] He was a friend, musical promoter and benefactor to many composers of his time, including Frédéric Chopin, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Richard Wagner, Hector Berlioz, Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edvard Grieg, Ole Bull, Joachim Raff, Mikhail Glinka, and Alexander Borodin. A prolific composer, Liszt was one of the most prominent representatives of the New German School (German: Neudeutsche Schule). He left behind an extensive and diverse body of work that influenced his forward-looking contemporaries and anticipated 20th-century ideas and trends. Among Liszt's musical contributions were the symphonic poem, developing thematic transformation as part of his experiments in musical form, and radical innovations in harmony.[3]

The interesting thing about this tower is that it is exactly on the border. 2/3 are on the Hungarian side, 1/3 on the Burgenland side. The entrance is in Burgenland. That was very interesting at the time of the Iron Curtain. The border at the tower was constantly guarded by Hungarian border guards, you could not step on Hungarian soil. Only when you entered the tower could you step on Hungarian soil under the eyes of the border soldiers.
