Rest bench with original drinking water tap and wayside cross on the Salzkammergut Trail near Gerlham A lovingly designed rest bench invites you to take a break on an idyllic stretch of the Salzkammergut Cycle Trail (R2) near Gerlham. The bench is located directly beneath a shady tree, to which a simple yet expressive wooden wayside cross with a figure of Christ is attached – a quiet place for contemplation in the midst of nature. The drinking water fountain installed next to it is particularly original: a small tap protrudes from a hollowed-out tree trunk, providing fresh spring water to thirsty hikers and cyclists – a charming yet practical solution that blends harmoniously into the rural surroundings. The spot not only offers refreshment but also a wonderful view over fields and forests – an ideal place for a short rest away from the hustle and bustle.

View of Lake Attersee from the ridge near Berg. At an altitude of approximately 650 meters, a panorama opens up above the village of Berg that is hard to surpass in its vastness and tranquility. Lake Attersee stretches out in front of you in a rich blue, nestled between gently rising hills and the striking rock faces of the Höllengebirge in the background. From this perspective, the small villages along the shore appear almost like miniatures, blending harmoniously into the lush landscape. Up here, surrounded by tranquil meadows and under a vast sky, everyday life seems to recede into the distance.
