Not far from the scenic Wilhelmswarte and the Klesheimwarte is the Anninger-Schutzhaus, a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. The shelter not only offers culinary delights, but also a cozy garden where you can stop for a break. The warm atmosphere and the homemade specialties are particularly appreciated. A visit is worthwhile for anyone who wants to take a relaxing break after a hike on the Anninger.

EuroVelo 9a is part of the EuroVelo 9 route, which connects the Baltic Sea with the Adriatic Sea and crosses six countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy1. EuroVelo 9a is the section that runs through Austria, from the border with the Czech Republic to the border with Slovenia. It is about 480 km long and leads through picturesque landscapes of vineyards, castles and thermal baths. On the way you can also visit the capital Vienna, with its rich cultural and historical attractions. EuroVelo 9a is a good choice for cyclists who want to enjoy a variety of experiences in one route.

The EuroVelo 9 connects the Baltic Sea with the Adriatic and repeatedly crosses Lower Austria. The route leads from Břeclav (Reintal border crossing) to Vienna through the idyllic Weinviertel and then goes into the enjoyable thermal region of the Vienna Woods, before finally turning leisure cyclists into summiteers in the Vienna Alps.

One of the shortest Eurovelo routes leads through Lower Austria, Vienna and Styria in eastern Austria. Along the route you can discover vineyards, castles and thermal baths. A visit to the "Heurigen" to sample regional delicacies is also worthwhile.

The refuge is a popular stop for hikers, mountain bikers, cross-country skiers and tobogganists.

The Krauste Linde forest rest stop is located right next to the anniversary celebrations. The signposts to the "Krauste Linde" are impossible to miss. The menu features down-to-earth, home-made dishes - from horseradish to goulash, soups and pastries - and in winter there is mulled wine to warm you up with. There is no luxury, but on busy days (weekends!) there is a loud wanderlust in front of and in the hut. The Krauste Linde forest rest stop is child-friendly with children's meals and armchairs. You can also watch animals such as goats and chickens. There are rooms for all kinds of celebrations. The hall for events can accommodate up to 100 people and the extra parlor for around 30.
