The Mödling castle ruins are picturesquely located in the Föhrenberge Nature Park and are one of the most impressive historical sites in the region. Originally built in the 12th century, it once served as an important fortress before falling into disrepair in the 16th century. Today, the well-preserved remains offer a fascinating insight into medieval history and are a popular destination for hikers. From the ruins you can also enjoy a breathtaking view of Mödling and the surrounding area.

The entire canal is an industrial monument although the condition of the road is sometimes appalling

Flat as a pan and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend Thermenradweg for people looking for an easy ride south of Vienna. While you are at it, visit Baden.

The Thermenradweg is a beautiful and leisurely cycle route that takes you from Vienna to Wiener Neustadt and on to Aspang. You can enjoy the landscape, the culture and the wine villages of the thermal region, as well as relax in the thermal baths of Baden and Bad Vöslau. The Thermenradweg is part of the EuroVelo 9, a Europe-wide long-distance cycle route that runs from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea.

A very nice bike path along the Wr. Neustadt Canal. Unfortunately I have to avoid it as much as possible because otherwise I'll have to punch some stupid pedestrian or runner in the mouth. Would I recommend immediately if you finally do something about the pedestrians. According to the StVO, pedestrians are not allowed to walk in the longitudinal direction on cycle paths that are not marked as cycle paths and footpaths.
