The Bachlweg is no longer an official trail. Stream crossings are difficult due to flooding, as the stream has changed significantly. You simply have to wade through. It's still worth it, though; a great scenic tour, and technically easy.

The large Slavic fortification covers an area of approximately 15 hectares and is located on the eastern edge of the Gföhl Forest, high above the right bank of the Kamp River. The site has been known since 1800, but excavations have only been conducted here since 1965 by the University of Vienna, with financial support from the Lower Austrian provincial government.

the section from Tautendorf to Stiefern beside Stiefernbach is a tough ride and most properly not suitable for beginners. There are some challenging stream crossings and don't be surprised if you have to overcome some obstacles

It looks very impressive - and the festival there is said to be fantastic. Yesterday (7/7/24), for example, Gershwin's "Rapsody in Blue" was performed.

The stream crossings are the absolute highlight of the Bachlrunde. Real fun and no problem when the water is low. After periods of rain or heavy rain, at least wet feet are guaranteed 😉.

The Rosenburg owes its name to the knight Gozwin de Rosenberg

One of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Austria towers over the Kamptal and is worth a visit. Some switchbacks lead up from the valley, which require more or less effort by bike - depending on the support - but it's worth it.
